The era of ignorance is upon us.

It's about time that I updated my blog again with oodles of non information that happens to pertain to my boring life.

I practically worked non-stop at the commie shop that I am enslaved to in Oxford street over the holidays. On Sunday during team talk which is held about 15 min before the shop is opened under close scrutiny by the pathetic no hopers that we have to refer to as customers. Our Sunday manager anounced he was leaving to work full time as an Engineer. (so we ARE all nomads passing through the retail experience to something better!)

He feverently apologised to my Chinese friend Paula (who was on holiday that day)for offending her with his anti Chinese/Filipino "jokes" when Patricia (a person who's slightly senior to us lowly sales assistants, but who's job description is as undescript as the regular route of the #453 bus) interjected by saying "Paula is Chinese?"
We all roared with laughter. She then quickly composed herself and said "Did you all know that Dahab and Maryan are BLACK??!?!?!?!" She was referring to the only two Somali girls in the shop. All eyes turned to us and then THEY all roared with laughter. I didn't know whether to be angry or amused, so I just sat there staring at he in complete shock. As an attempt to redeem herself she started to "explain" why she had first assumed we MAY not be black and she rattles of a list of facial features commonly seen in Somali's, to which tears started rolling down people's faces.

Bloody revelation that is.
